The whole city
is your game board.
Custom scavenger hunts built around your group — weddings, birthdays, bachelorette parties, corporate team-building, and more. We design every clue, every challenge, and every route from scratch.
What is a Makeshift Scavenger Hunt?
It's not an app. It's not a pre-printed packet. It's a fully custom adventure we design specifically for your group — your people, your vibe, your city. We build the route, write the clues, and make sure every stop means something to the people playing.
Every hunt is one-of-a-kind
We've never run the same hunt twice. Every route, every clue, every challenge is written fresh for your group.
Built for any occasion
If it's worth celebrating, it's worth a custom hunt.
Weddings & Rehearsal Dinners
Send your wedding party on an adventure through the city before the big day. We weave in inside jokes, meaningful locations, and moments they'll talk about for years.
Bachelorette & Bachelor Parties
Skip the bar crawl script. We build a hunt that's actually about the guest of honor — their obsessions, their humor, their Boston.
Birthday Celebrations
A scavenger hunt that's actually about the birthday person. We build clues around their interests, favorite spots, and inside jokes.
Corporate Team-Building
Get your team out of the conference room and into the city. Custom hunts that build real connections — not trust falls.
Family Reunions
Multi-generational fun that works for everyone. We design challenges that bring the whole family together across age groups.
School & Youth Groups
Educational and exciting. We build hunts that teach Boston history, culture, and geography through hands-on exploration.
How it works
Tell us about your group
Who's playing? What's the occasion? How many people? Any must-hit locations or inside jokes we should know about?
We design your hunt
We build a custom route through Boston with clues, challenges, and surprises tailored specifically to your group.
We run it with you
On the day, we're there to guide, referee, and make sure everything runs smoothly — so you can actually enjoy it.
